How To Draw Gwen Stacy From Spiderman: Into the Spider Verse

In this quick tutorial you’ll learn how to draw Gwen Stacy from Spiderman: into the Spider Verse

in just a few quick steps, but first…

Gwen Stacy was bitten by a radioactive spider and became the superhero Spider-Woman. She is a member of the Spider-Man family and has appeared in various Spider-Man comics over the years.

As Spider-Woman, Gwen has all of the same powers as Spider-Man, including super strength, agility, and the ability to shoot webbing. She also has her own unique set of skills, such as being able to sense when someone is lying to her.

Gwen is one of the main characters in the 2018 animated film Spiderman: into the Spider Verse. In the film, she teams up with other versions of Spider-Man from different dimensions to stop the villain Kingpin from destroying the multiverse.

Now that you know a little bit about Gwen, let’s learn how to draw her!

Step 1

Start by drawing a circle for Gwen’s head. After you draw a circle, sketch out the face. Since the angle of the face is to the left, draw a centerline a little left of the middle of the head.

Step 2

We then draw the neck next. Make the neck a bit thinner than the head.

Step 3

Draw a line across from left to right marking the shoulder area.

Step 4

Here, we draw 2 circles to mark where the shoulders will be at.

Step 5

We then draw a guideline marking where we want the torso to be facing. The end of the guideline also marks where the crotch area will be at. Also, the total length of the torso is 2 1/2 heads long.

Step 6

We draw the upper torso in a form of a rib cage.

Step 7

Draw 2 slanted elongated ovals for the hips where the crotch area will be.

Step 8

Draw the guidelines for the crotch area.

Step 9

Draw the lower torso region. Since she’s bending her hips in one direction, the right side will be squeezed on that side.

Step 10

Draw her legs next. Make them long and slender.

Step 11

Draw a circle midway near the torso. This will be the joint that connects the forearm and the upper arm.

Step 12

We then draw the upper arm first. The length of the upper arm is usually mid-torso. After that, draw the forearm next.

Step 13

Draw the palm almost like an octagon. This will be the base of the hand.

Step 14

Draw 5 joints for the fingers.

Step 15

Draw the fingers about where the joints are located.

Step 16

Next, we draw the guidelines for the eyes. This will help us with the placement of the eyes.

Step 17

Draw a rough sketch of both eyes. Doesn’t have to be perfect at this stage as we’re still refining.

Step 18

Once the eyes are done we draw the eyeballs next.

Step 19

We then draw the nose and mouth. She looks funny looking at this stage. Almost like a smurf.

Step 20

We then erase the guidelines for the face and added a little more detail around the mouth. Now she’s coming together.

Step 21

We added her eyebrows and the bridge for the nose. Erase the guidelines for the nose as well.

Step 22

Next, we add in her hair. We make the front part of her hair thick and the back part thin.

Step 23

Add more detail to the face next. We added some wrinkles where the eyes are, some lines around the mouth, and some shading to give her face more dimension.

Step 24

Draw the breast. The breasts aren’t perfect circles. They have a slant to them.

Step 25

Next, we clean up some of the lines and added her navel.

Step 26

Now, we clean up more of the lines and we draw in her suit. Also, add her freckles as well.

Step 27

We add more detail to the image and vary the line width in some areas to give the sketch more depth.

Step 28

The final touch for the image. We lightly darken her spider suit and her lips, and we added highlights for the areas of the suit where the light is shining.

That’s it! You now have a finished drawing of Gwen Stacy!
