How To Draw An Ear

Do you want to know how to draw an ear? The ear can be very easy to draw once you know how to do it. There are many variations of an ear. From simple to complicated.
They also come in many shapes and forms. From regular human ears to elf ears. But in this article, we will be focusing on how to draw a regular human ear.
The first thing you need to do is understand the anatomy of an ear. The ear is made up of three main parts: the outer ear, the middle ear, and the inner ear.
The outer ear is the part that you can see. It is made up of the skin, the cartilage, and the earlobe. The middle ear is the part that connects to your head. It is made up of the eardrum and the bones of the middle ear.
The inner ear is the part that controls your hearing. It is made up of the cochlea and the vestibular system.
Now that you know the parts of the ear, you can start drawing it.
What You Need To Draw An Ear
The supplies needed to draw an ear are these:
- Paper
- Pencil or pen
- Eraser
- Ruler or a straight edge (optional)
You can use a regular pencil, or a pencil that was made for drawing. Either way, it is up to you. If you want to use a pen, make sure it is a fine-pointed pen so that you can draw the details of the ear.
Step 1:
Begin by drawing a simple shape for the outer ear. This can be any shape you like, but make sure it’s not too complicated. First, start from the top left by drawing a hook that curves upward.
Once you’ve done that, draw the upper part of the outer ear and then make your way down to the ear lobe.
Step 2:
Now it’s time to begin drawing the inner part of the ear. Start from the top and draw a curved line that goes down. This will be the start of inner part of the ear
As you continue drawing this line, make sure to keep it close to the other lines you’ve drawn so far. This will help create the illusion that the inner ear is inside the outer ear.
Step 3:
Next, draw the innermost area of the ear. This is a small, round shape that is located in the middle of the ear. Make sure to draw it in the center of the ear. Start from the beginning of the inner part of the ear and then as you draw it downward, make the shape smaller.
Step 4:
After that, draw the bones of the middle ear. These are small and curved, so take your time to make them look right.
Step 5:
In this step, we draw two lines opposing each other in the middle part of the ear.
Step 6:
We finish by adding more detail to the inner area of the ear. We added a secondary line to step 2. More ear details to step 4 as well.
Step 7:
If you want to take your picture further, you can add shading to it for more depth. You can use reference pictures to get an idea of how to do this.
Ears are not difficult to draw once you understand the basics. With a little practice, you’ll be able to draw them with ease.
That’s it! You have now drawn an ear. If you want to make it more complicated, feel free to add more details. But for the most part, this is how you draw a regular human ear. Thanks for reading!
